Willamette Center Shelter Re-Opening

You’re invited to join Multnomah County, the Joint Office of Homeless Services, Transition Projects Inc., the Sellwood-Moreland Improvement League (SMILE), and other community partners in celebration of the reopening of the Willamette Center shelter.

As we mark the conclusion of renovations to this longtime shelter, please join us for a community event featuring guest speakers, a blanket donation drive, site tours, and more.

Everyone is welcome! We hope to see you there!

What is the Willamette Center?
The Willamette Center,  a 24/7 low-barrier shelter for up to 120 women and people in couples, first opened in November 2016 during a state of emergency as an early step in the County’s commitment to expanding shelter. Willamette Center offers more than safety off the streets. It also helps  participants  regain stability, connect to support services, and access housing options.

The program will continue to operate on a reservation basis; there will be no walk-up services or lining up outside the shelter. The shelter is reopening this fall after required renovations needed for the program to remain open even after the state of emergency lifts.
